Monopiles or jacket piles

We are familiar with developments in production equipment. We can advise about the type of foundation, like monopiles, jacket piles or other types of foundations at sea. Think of gravity or suction-based foundations or tripods. What is the best choice when it comes to the (lowest) cost, water depth or hardness of the seabed? We also have the relevant knowledge when it comes to transport or the right contractors for the project.

Deeper water

We monitor developments in the market. In the future, placements will take place in deeper waters with more powerful functions (10-12 MW). This means that heavier foundations will be needed with greater length, diameter and weight, all of which impacts on transport and construction. In 2023, sixteen percent of the energy used in the Netherlands must come from sustainable sources. The Climate Agreement also states that by 2030 at least 35 terawatt hours (TWh) of sustainable electricity must be produced on land (wind and sun). It is good to know that wind energy is an important form of sustainable energy to achieve these goals.
