Gemini
Off the Dutch coast lies the offshore wind farm Gemini. The Latin name means twins and refers to two locations that together form the wind farm. These are Buitengaats and Zee-energie. Knoester is proud to have contributed to this sustainable energy supply through Van Oord, which supplies energy to more than 1.5 million people. Gemini is located in the Dutch part of the North Sea, 85 kilometres off the northern coast of the Netherlands. The first section with 75 turbines is located north of Ameland. The second section, also with 75 turbines, lies 55 kilometres north of Schiermonnikoog. Gemini has a production capacity of 600 megawatt per year and can produce 2.6 terawatt hour of sustainable electricity.
