Deutsche Bucht
Deutsche Bucht is the third offshore wind farm from the Canadian energy producer Northland Power. Knoester worked as construction manager for Van Oord on this sustainable energy supply. The wind project is located in the North Sea, more than 100 kilometres from the German mainland. Due to the constant strong wind, Deutsche Bucht has an optimal energy yield. During the two-year engineering and construction process, it also required the necessary procedures during transport and construction. The wind farm uses a powerful offshore turbine, the MHI Vestas’ 8.4 MW. The 31 turbines are expected to generate 1 billion kilowatt hours of climate-friendly electricity every year. The maximum production capacity of approximately 260 MW is sufficient to meet the needs of over 300,000 households.
